488 individuals will represent Saskatchewan at the Canada Summer Games

The time has come for the 2025 Canada Summer Games to commence this weekend in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Hosted in St. John’s, the Games will take place from Aug. 9-25 with Team Saskatchewan representing 92 communities from across the province. The full contingent will see 488 individuals wearing green and yellow, with 85 coaches, 26 mission staff members and 377 athletes set to compete in 19 different sports.

Regina basketball and volleyball player, Hayden Kot was named Saskatchewan’s flag bearer for Opening Ceremonies and will lead the province into the Games. The 16-year-old dual-sport athlete was also named captain of the women’s volleyball team.

Overall, the 30th edition of the Games will see more than 4,000 athletes, coaches and support staff coming together for the event.

Those attending will have the opportunity to access a home away from home with the Canada Games House. The space was designed to welcome athletes, their families and other spectators in a community of celebration.

Athletes who compete at the Canada Games represent the country’s upcoming generation of national, international, Olympic and Paralympic champions. Meet the team who will be stepping onto the national stage.
