Sask Sport is deeply saddened by the loss of former board member Larry Lafrentz.

Overall sport enthusiast, Lafrentz acted as the athletic director for Gull Lake high school, where he was also a teacher and a coach for 14 years. In 1990, he became the Assistant Executive Director for the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association and took on the Executive Director role in 2003 until his retirement in 2008.

Lafrentz also held multiple volunteer positions, which included serving on the Sask Sport Board of Directors from 2014-17. In that role, he was Chair of the Officials Advisory Committee and Canadian Sport Centre Saskatchewan’s Management Committee and also served on the Sport and Aboriginal Sport Leadership Council committees.
